Description
The Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, herein known as PNNL, operated by Battelle Memorial Institute, under Contract No. DE-AC05-76RLO 1830, with the U.S. Department of Energy, herewith solicits your quote for an integrated picosecond Sum-Frequency Generation Vibrational Spectroscopy (SFG-VS) spectrometer, to conduct surface-sensitive spectroscopy and imaging measurements. The equipment shall meet the following requirements: 1. The picosecond mode-locked laser shall operate at 50Hz and the laser pulse width shall be < 30ps. 2. The SFG spectrometer shall use 532nm light as the visible source and the tuning range of the OPA shall be between 600 and 25000 cm-1 (0.4-18 microns) with a resolution better than 6 cm-1 across the tuning range of 2.3-18 microns. 3. The SFG spectrometer should contain an SFG-VS imaging function with the visible light source at 1064nm, and the IR range from 2000 to 3800cm-1. The spatial resolution required is < 5 microns and the field of view is > 0.5 mm. 4. The system should have a surface second harmonic generation (SHG) capability in the 210-700nm range. 5. The system should be delivered as an integrated package including computer controlled six-axis sample stage. The whole system is to be hosted on a 5x12 laser table. However, the laser table is not required. 6. The SFG experimental configuration is co-propagating, with the option for a collinear experimental configuration with the visible and IR. Polarization control of the visible and the sum-frequency beam should be optimized for measurement in intermediate polarizations besides s and p polarizations. The beam delivery configuration should allow easy change of the incident angle of the visible beam and the outgoing angle of the sum frequency beam in the range of 30 to 75 degrees from the surface normal. 7. The detection of the SFG-VS signal can be conducted with either of the two ports of the monochromator with two different PMTs (Hamamatsu R7899 and R585, or similar ones.). The voltages for the PMTs can be varied over the whole range of the PMT specification from the data acquisition software. 8. Software for data acquisition should be included in the spectrometer package. The programmable source code should be included. A PC computer which controls the SFG spectrometer system is to be included. 9. The SFG spectrometer laser system shall satisfy the following primary operating performance criteria. Physical Operating Criteria Primary Performance Parameter Tuning Range 2 to 18 m Output Power >50 J between 2 and 10 m Spectral Resolution < 6 cm-1 across entire tuning range Pulse Repetition Rate 50 Hz or higher Data Collection computer controlled Sample holder 6 axis stage 10. On-site installation and training shall be included with the purchase, to commence within fourteen (14) days of delivery. 11. The equipment must have a United States service representative capable of timely repairs or support if needed 12. Equipment shall have a two year onsite parts, travel and labor warranty that includes a minimum of one on-site preventative maintenance service call per year. The warranty shall commence after system acceptance.
