- THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. In accordance with FAR 5.102 Availability of the Justification(a)(6). The Center of Acquisition Innovations (CAI) 1615 Woodward Street, Austin, TX 78772 in accordance with FAR 13.501 intends to negotiate a Brand Name Only source procurement for a EMC Corporation manufactured item. It will be to purchase the EMC Corporation Renewal Software Maintenance of Power Path Windows WGR license with 7x24x365 coverage and a 4 hour response time from a NASA SEWP program contract located in Austin, TX. Hines, IL., and Philadelphia, PA. This request is for notification purposes only, and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP), a Solicitation, a Request for Quote (RFQ) or, an indication that the Government will award a contract for the items contained in this RFI. This notice is not to be construed as a commitment on the part of the Government to award a contract, nor does the Government intend to pay for any information submitted as a result of this request. The Government does not reimburse respondents for any costs associated with submission of the information being requested or, reimburse expenses incurred for responses to this RFI. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that other than this Brand Name would be advantageous to the Government. Respondents should identify their company name, address, email, telephone number and a name and telephone number of a point of contact having the authority and knowledge to clarify responses with government representatives. Submissions are due NO LATER THAN 16 September 2009 at 4:00 P.M. C.S.T. and may be made by emailing a response to: Cesar.Fausto2@va.gov. A copy of your response may also be submitted through the FBO website. This RFI notification is based on statutory authority of Brand name specification as required by FAR 13.501. This notice is part of the Government's market research, a continuous process for obtaining the latest information from industry, with respect to their current and near-term abilities. BRAND NAME OF EMC Corporation. is required due to License being proprietary to EMC. We require recurring maintenance for a period of one year. No other maintenance will work with our EMC software. This brand Name is understood to be for the manufactured product only. Resellers will be solicited through NASA SEWP first and then through GSA resellers. This is only a Brand Name Requirement.
