- One (1) firm fixed-price Design-Build contract for the repair and improveBldg. 3755 at Naval Air Station (NAS Kingsville, Texas, and convert it from aBachelor Enlisted Quarters to Transient Quarters. The project will demolish theinterior of the building (approx. 60,000 SF) and construct new one-bedroom andtwo-bedroom units with kitchens. New energy efficient doors, windows, andfixtures will be installed. The work also includes re-design of the HVAC system,upgrade of the electrical system and fire protection system to comply withcurrent codes. Exterior repairs include restoration of exterior finishes androof replacement. The refurbished facility will be ADA compliant, meet ATFPrequirements and comply with the Base Exterior Architectural Appearance Plan. The repairs and alterations to Bldg. 3755 will allow the Transient personnelcurrently being housed in Bldg. 3730 to be moved to Bldg. 3755. Bldg. 3730 willbecome excess and will be demolished under this project (approx. 54,000 SF). Theproject will also install a new roof, repair/replace exterior stairwells,replace windows, upgrade laundry rooms, and upgrade the lobby in Bldg. 3740.Exterior repairs to Bldg. 3740 will comply with the Base Exterior ArchitecturalAppearance Plan. A new facility (approx. 8,000 SF) for the storage of furnitureand other BQ materials will also be constructed.
