- Amendment is issued to postpone bid opening from September 14, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. EST. Another amendment will be issued to establish a new bid opening date. The Work is located in the Saw Mill Run Area of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Allegheny County. The major features of work include: 1. Excavation in Ohio River from mouth of Saw Mill Run to approximately 250 ft. from river bank, 2. Installation of sheet pile walls and stone protection along the river bank at Saw Mill Run outfall to Ohio River. 3. Channel excavation inside the CSX RR and West Carson Street culverts, 4. Placement of concrete floor slab inside the West Carson Street culvert, 5. Channel excavation from upstream end of West Carson Street culvert to just downstream of the Norfolk Southern railroad bridge, 6. Installation of revetment mat slope protection on the right bank at former location of the Plank Street bridge and on the left bank between Plank Street and Alexander Street, 7. Protection of the South Main Street Bridge abutments by placement of concrete floor slab and walls. The period of performance will be 360 calendar days. Magnitude of the project is between $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. This procurement will be 100% set-aside for Small Business. The Invitation for Bid (IFB) will be issued approximately August 20, 2009 on-line only through the Federal Business Opportunities website; therefore, requests for hardcopies of the specifications and drawings will not be honored. Requests must be made by registering for this solicitation at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Once registered, vendors, plan rooms and printing companies will be able to download the solicitation and drawings on or after the above issuance date.
