PER FAR 5.7 THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY; THEREFORE FAR 5.203 DOES NOT APPLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY WAS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTORS UNDER MULTIPLE AWARD CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT (MACC) N68711-03-D-7004 NAVFAC HVAC 8(A) GROUP 32. CONTRACTORS UNDER THIS CONTRACT INCLUDE: SUN MECHANICAL COMPANY (N68711-05-D-4008; BESTEK ENGINEERING, INC. (N68711-05-D-4009); AND SOUZA CONSTRUCTION (N68711-05-D-4011). RECOVERY--PROJECT NUMBER TMA-N12, RESTORE AGED AND DETERIORATED COOLING TOWERS AT NAVAL MEDICAL CENTER SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA This is a Design-Build project to replace three Baltimore Air Coil (BAC) cooling towers serving the computer room with new same capacity. Contractor shall be responsible for confirming existing equipment size in place and sizing the new cooling towers to match existing. Provide stainless steel towers. Disconnect piping at first union, unless pipe modifications are required. New piping will be installed from the cooling towers to the existing isolation valves. Replace electrical wiring and conduit along with the Starter/Disconnects, which will be wall mounted next to the towers. Replace duplex receptacles with in-use weatherproof covers and GFCI type devices. Replace toggle switches. The existing single pole toggle switches will be replaced with single pole toggle switches and weatherproof covers. Abate asbestos containing roof mastic under the existing cooling tower if it exists. Repair 10' in diameter of roof material including insulation all around existing cooling towers and coordinate with NMC facilities to maintain warranty of the recently installed roof system. Repair and repaint existing remaining steel piping. Prepare and repaint existing, exposed cooling tower enclosure structural steel framing. Flashings at mechanical equipment curbs and bases will be removed and replaced. Two towers will remain in service and operational at all times, Server room to remain in full operation with 100% of required cooling available for duration of the project.
