- The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Central Iowa Health Care System, Des Moines IA 50310, under statutory authority 41 USC 253(c) (5) and 38 USC 1720 the government anticipates entering into a sole source acquisition negotiations for placement and service of eligible veterans into one nursing home facility located in Iowa. The name and address is as follows. Webster Care Corporation, Webster City, Iowa. VA central Iowa Health Care System, Des Moines IA, intends to issue a Basic Ordering Agreement which will be a base and four (4) option years. The above authority is cited and justification made was based on the Government's minimum needs can best be satisfied by the services available from one source in a specific area of responsibility. This action is for services which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-5 and under commercial item format prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13 as supplemented with additional information on this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; the reference/solicitation number is VA263-09-RQ-0369. A determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive acquisition.
