- The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Meta Systems Group Inc, Watertown, MA 02472, pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This purchase is for one (1) each of the following item: 1) FISH Imaging & PC upgrade for MC-167 - Computer workstation, FISH imaging capture and analysis software Qty 1 each 2) Software Upgrade (MC-167) (per year) Software upgrade for MetaCyte license (2/07 - 1/09) Qty 2 each. With these upgrades we can do quantitative FISH AND specifically make telmere measurements in both formalin fixed breast samples from the Sister Study, prostate cancer and normal tissues from the Prostate Consortium Study, as well as in the breast fine needle aspirates. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability. Respond to this requirement by submitting written capabilities/specifications to the Purchasing Agent at the address stated above. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within 8 days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 8 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with Meta Systems Group. The NAICS Code/Size is 334516/500. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures in conjunction with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and is not expected to exceed the Simplified Acquisition threshold of $100,000.
