- For Informational Purposes Only. This action is awarded under Modification no. A093. The mod recognizes Work Authorization No. ST/AL03/9/ARRA-2 (LASO # RA-09-014) and is issued under M&O Contract number DE-AC52-06NA25396. This action is funded by Recovery Act dollars. The M&O Contractor DUNS number is 175252894. The description of the work involved under this Work Authorization is shown below: Research and Training in Reactor and Accelerator Production and Separations of High Specific Activity Radionuclides. The Principal Investigator is Michael Fassbender. Justification for Non-Fixed Price Type of Contract for WA* (added to description in FedBizOpps): LANS was selected by DOE to participate in this ARRA work as part of a Laboratory-University Collaboration due to LANL’s expertise in the subject matter. The funds will support work in two project areas in which LANL collaborates with the Missouri University Research Reactor (MURR). in Columbia, MO. The work falls within the Nuclear Physics Program of the Office of Science, which is allowed under the prime contract Section J, Appendix B. Statement of Work Section 3.3 entitled High Energy and Nuclear Physics of the current Contract based on the following paragraph: “The Contractor shall conduct high energy and nuclear physics research involving experimental and theoretical programs in nuclear and particle physics.” This is a Cost-Reimbursable type contract.
