- Description
- The National Technical Information Service (NTIS) intends to procure on a sole source basis, using Simplified Acquisition Procedures, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), with Kewill Solutions in Marlborough, Massachusetts. Kewill's Clippership has been integrated to our NTIS legacy host system at an existing location. NTIS already owns several Clippership licenses, and this purchase will leverage this former investment, both in price reduction and resources. NTIS' staff is already very familiar with the application so no further investment in training will be needed. By investing in this system now will alleviate most of the investment needed to move the existing Clippership system off our NTIS Legacy host system and over to the new host system with minimum contracted services, training and downtime. This further investment takes advantage of past investments which will allow for standard shipping interface for all of NTIS shipping staff to use at two different locations. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will consider other responses received by the deadline. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
