- Description
- NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE. Arnold Engineering Development Center (AEDC), Arnold AFB TN intends to award a sole source contract to Carl Zeiss IMT Corporation, 6250 Sycamore Lane South, Maple Grove, MN 55369, to retrofit and repair a Zeiss Coordinate Measuring Machine, Model PMC 850/700/600, serial number 74426, provide all material, labor, equipment, and transportation necessary to retrofit the existing Zeiss Coordinate Measuring Machine to Calypso software with C99/Vast XT and perform preventative maintenance and advanced A2LA Calibration, to include the following: 1 each Retrofit Kit C99 Vast XT F PMC 8/12/6 Part #601206-9951-000, 1 each Install Kit Cable Harness PMC, Replacement of connector box including Plate and Pre amp and Maintenance unit. Preventive maintenance parts shall include the following: X,Y, and Z axis Drive belts, X Drive Band, Z Drive Cable, X Dust covers Left and Right, X and Z Gear Boxes, Air Bearing Set and Bolt Kit. Computer replacement equipment includes the following: Zeiss power Workstation HP, PS/2 Easy Access keyboard, 17" LCD Flat Screen Monitor, HP Inkjet Color Printer and USB cable and Outlet Strip-6 Pos, SW, LT. Software shall include the following: Calypso CNC Geometry and shall include Calypso Basic training. This synopsis is approved for a sole source contract action as authorized in FAR 6.302-1 (supplies or services are considered to be available from only one source). No solicitation package will be issued. However, all interested sources may identify their interest but must provide proof of capability to provide an acceptable product by submitting pricing data, an accurate description of the equipment offered and make and model numbers of the equipment. Only responses containing this data will be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Award will not be made on the basis of responses received to this synopsis. If no favorable responses are received by close of business (3:00 PM CST) 28 September 2009, a contract will be negotiated with the above named source.
