- This notice is issued as a follow-up to the Sources SoughtAnnouncement for this project. Sufficient competition for ServiceDisabled Veteran Owned construction companies was identified, whichresulted in this being a 100% SDVOSB set-aside for competitive bids forthe project. The Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center (MEDVAMC) is seeking aqualified Construction Firm with specialty experience to provide alllabor, materials, parts, equipment, travel, and supervision inrelocating and renovating the Nuclear Medicine Clinic and expansion ofthe Eye Clinic. Specialized experience is required with sitepreparation and renovation of areas dealing with radioactive materials,Isotopes and laser beams and structural shielding requirements forNuclear Medicine rooms. The work will be performed at the MEDVAMC, 2002Holcombe Blvd., Houston, Texas 77030. The NAICS Codes is 236220 with asmall business size standard of $33.5 million. The magnitude of thisproject will range between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000. The Solicitationincludes specifications and project drawings. The Specifications areattached. The Government will not provide paper copies of thesolicitation. The closing date for submitting proposals is September 21,2009. A Pre-Pid/Site Visit has been scheduled for September 10, 2009 at10:00 AM CST at the main building Room 4B-300. All questions relatedto this announcement and the solicitation must be in writing and emailedto the contracting officer, Tony Jackson at tony.jackson@va.gov. Faxedinquiries and faxed proposals are NOT allowed. Potential offerors MUST be registered at FedBizOpps (www.fbo.gov) inorder to receive notifications and/or changes to the solicitation.Interested offerors are solely responsible for monitoring the FedBizOpswebsite for amendment(s) to the solicitation if any and acknowledgingthem in accordance with the requirements stipulated in the amendments. All offerors are advised to pay close attention to the ProposalPreparation Instructions and Basis for Contract Award/Evaluation Factorssections of the solicitation. Forthe first fifty drawings it would be $24 and each additional fiftysheets would be $18. For the first eight hundred sheets of specs it is$24 and each additional eight hundred sheets would be $18. Which forthis project it would be approximately $84. The Specifications are 854pages and there are 69 Drawings. Should you want a set of hard copiesof the specifications and drawings, then the cost would be $270.00.However, if a CD is preferred, cost could vary depending on how theformat of the documents.
