- This Invitation for Bid is for an AML Emergency Reclamation project sponsored by the Department of the Interior's Office of Surface Mining Reclamation & Enforcement Appalachia Team in Ashland, KY. Project Description: Mobilization and demobilization of the contractor's men, equipment and materials. Site preparation, including removal of fences, and providing access to the slide area. Excavation of the landslide material and all associated compaction and regrading activities. Stabilization of the landslide with the construction of a modified RSS (reinforced steep slope) structure. Installation of surface and subsurface drainage systems. The construction of an asphalt berm on the hiking trail to divert storm water from landslide site. Revegetation and tree planting. Replacement/repair of fences. A pre-bid conference will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at 11:00 AM. Prospective bidders are to meet at the start of the Bob Amos trail located along Cedar Hill Drive (Route 3417) in Pikeville, Pike County, KY. Sealed bids are due to OSM by 3:00 p.m. on September 16, 2009.
