- The Corps received the following question: Question 3. The specs call for maximum motor RPM at 670 in paragraph 2.3.1 Speed.The normal motor speed in USA for 60 HZ motors is determined by number of poles or can be adjusted further with a VFD. I would respectfully ask that this speed be clarified. Synchronous speed would be 900,720 and 600 RPM with actual speed that include some slip at nominal 880,705 and 580 RPM. Our best pump selection is at 705 RPM with 88% efficiency. Response: See Amendment 0002 for clarification/Section changes.
