- Justification for sole source award SUBJECT: NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT FOR UNITERRUPTED POWER SUPPLY (UPS). DESC: INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE, FIRM FIXED PRICE PROCUREMENT WITH Weber & Associates, Inc. The Air Force, McConnell Air Force Base, KS intends to award a Sole Source purchase order under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) part 12, Acquisition of Commercial items and FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures to Weber & Associates, Inc, 1427 E WATERMAN Wichita, KS, 67211. The Sole Source purchase will be for the following: one (1) commercial item: Liebert NX UPS 38SA020C0CHR to include one (1) external battery system rated for 121 minutes at a 20kVA, one (1) External Battery Cabinet 38BP020RWR1BNR, one (1) Maintenance Bypass Transformer Cabinet 38MB0200CC6AL, installation, and demo of existing panel. Description: The requirement consists of demolition work to the existing panels and installing the new UPS system as described above. Delivery will be FOB destination with Contractor installation. This requirement is a follow-on to our existing Liebert UPS system. Also, in order to honor our maintenance contract with the existing UPS, the installation must be done with Weber & Associates, Inc. See attached Justification for further information. Weber & Associates, Inc, is the only known source that can satisfy the requirements of the Government at this time. Please note that this is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements are invited to submit in writing complete information describing their ability to provide the UPS system. Fax Number: 316-759-5634. Information received as a result of this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Air Force not to open the requirement to open competition, based on response to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Air Force. If the office has not received any affirmative written responses by Close of Business (COB),11 September 2009, a Sole Source, firm-fixed price contract will be pursued with Weber & Associates.
