Description
Construct an Army Reserve Center (ARC) including: an ARC training building with 28,374 square feet (ft2) that will contain functions for administrative duties, educational training and unit and weapon storage; an organizational maintenance shop with 8,839 ft2 that will contain functions for administrative duties and vehicle maintenance; an unheated storage building with 1,217 ft2 that will contain functions for administrative duties and material bulk storage; organizational parking with 4,450 square yards (yd2) of available paved surface-area; and paved roadways of 4,158 yd2 providing access to the site. Buildings will be of permanent construction with reinforced concrete foundations, concrete floor slabs, structural steel frames, masonry veneer walls, standing seam metal roof, HVAC systems, plumbing, mechanical systems, security systems, and electrical systems. Supporting facilities include land clearing, paving, fencing, general site improvements, and extension of utilities to serve project. Accessibility for the disabled will be provided. Physical security measures will be incorporated into design including maximum standoff distance from roads, parking areas, and vehicle unloading areas. Sustainable Design and Development (SDD) and Energy Policy Act of 2005 (EPAct05) features will be provided. Air Conditioning (estimated 80 tons). This project will provide, on existing federal land, a 150-member training facility with administrative, educational, assembly, library, learning center, vault, weapons simulator, and physical fitness areas for six Army Reserve units. The organizational maintenance shop will provide work bays for training and maintenance administrative support for military equipment stored at this facility. This project will also provide an organizational storage building and adequate parking spaces for all military and privately-owned vehicles.
