- Description
- Q6: In the MAUI Overview document, there appears to be more plastic components than lead, yet in the solicitation you are asking for 25 plastic mounting plates and 50 lead modules. I have seen the pricing breakdown at the end of the solicitation, but am wanting to verify the quantities you are wanting to be quoted. Response: The quantities specified in the RFQ are correct. Please provide a quote based on these quantities. Additional information is also requested on line 10 of the Statement of Work (SOW). The SOW is incorporated as the last few pages of the RFQ document. Q7: The MAUI Overview sheet shows the lead colored gray, is that the color of the Herculiner that is needed? I have contacted the Herculiner technical representative and they are unsure if Herculiner will bond to the lead, have you any past experience with doing this? Response: The preferred color for the Herculiner is black. Surface preparation and cleanliness will likely influence the adhesion performance of the coating. Having said that, we have used Herculiner on similar lead anchors in the past and it has performed adequately. Q8: I also want to make sure there is no spec. on the lead, just plain lead is what is requested? Response: Plain lead. Q9: If I understand correctly, the UHMW-PE material is.750" thick stock and will not need to be faced (milled) on each side for improved flatness compared to the stock flatness. Is this correct? Response: The parts fabricated from high quality stock sheets do not need to be faced. However, there should be no evidence of warping or deformation in the finished part. (i.e. it should lay flat on a flat surface.)
