- The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to negotiate a sole-source, fixed-price procurement to Rimage Corporation, 7725 Washington Ave., South, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55439, under RFQE009256. This notice will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration's Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) Website (www.fedbizopps.gov). Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the FBO site to ensure they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. Based on market research conducted and contacts made with knowledgeable individuals within the government and the related industry, it has been determined the FBI's requirement for the referenced equipment can only be provided by Rimage. Rimage is the sole provider of Blu Ray recordable media that is compatible with the Everest 600 printer. In addition, Rimage is currently performing extensive testing on the media to ensure proper recording and printing, and Rimage guarantees the success of its product in conjunction with the Everest printer. This allows both the recorders and printers to be exchanged for new media if there are any defects. Another vendor would not be able to provide the FBI with that type of guarantee. The following is being procured: • Blu Ray 6x recordable media (BD-R-6x) discs (qty 5,133) This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations, however, interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement or submit quotes to this office by 12:00 pm EDT, August 31, 2009, via facsimile to the attention of: Laurie L. Williams, Contracting Officer, at 703-632-6103. Information received, will be solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The North American Industrial Classification System Number (NAICS) is 334111. The awardee shall be registered in the Central Contractor's Database (CCR) and also the Online Representations and Certification (ORCA) at http://orca.bpn.gov.
