- The Postal Service plans to issue a Fixed Price Contract for roof replacements at the Main Post Office located at 1155 Seminole Trail in Charlottesville, Virginia. The contractors must provide all material, labor, tools, plant, supplies, equipment, transportation, superintendence, temporary construction of every nature, and all other services and facilities necessary to perform the following work: This facility consists of a building constructed in 1973 containing a 1 story structure that includes an administrative wing, retail operations and a work room, plus an addition to the work room added in 1988. The addition of the work room consists of additional work room space and support areas. The facility is approximately 100,000 SF. There are ten (10) areas of roofing, one of which is a metal canopy. The preliminary scope of work includes, but is not limited to the following: 1. Total tear-off of two layers of roofing on the nine areas of roof down to deck. 2. Replacement of deteriorated metal deck, approximately one-third of the roof area. 3. Install 3” of iso and ˝” fiberboard. 4. Install new built-up roof system. 5. Install new metal copings and copper counter flashing. 6. Provide all new accessories. 7. Install secondary overflow drains. 8. Surface roof with two coats of an Energy-Star white elastomeric coating. This facility is an occupied functioning postal processing facility and there can be no disruption of postal operations. The total construction time for the project is 210 days; estimated cost range is $1,100,000 to $1,300,000. This solicitation is limited to the below listed prequalified contractors, selected as a result of Construction Qualification Statement issued under solicitation #362575-09-A-0019.
