Description
Responses to Questions for Solicitation No. 081309MEDC Q1. I would like to find out if there is a statement of work which provides the technical specifications for the service to include items such as the type video signal that needs to be broadcast. I would also like to learn if the solicitation includes the purchase of satellite space segment to support the broadcast. A1. This solicitation is for a broadcaster to provide one-hour or more of broadcast time between the hours of 7pm - 11pm on a DirecTV channel. Q2. Is the purpose of this RFP to get information to the DirecTV facility, or is it to rebroadcast information received from DirecTV over Miami TV airways? A2. As stated in the Request for Quote, we are not looking for a satellite provider. We are looking for a broadcaster who has time available in it's broadcasting schedule for us to send programming to them for broadcasting over their uplink through DirecTV. Q3. Who will be responsible for the cost of the satellite segment space for the uplink to DirecTV? A3. The cost of the satellite segment for the uplink to DirecTV is the responsibility of the vendor. We assume that any vendor already has such an uplink to place his programming on the local channels service of DirecTV. Q4. How will TV Marti be transmitting the feed to the chosen vendor (Fiber, tape, etc.), and will TV Marti be responsible for the costs associated with providing this means of transport? A4. TV Marti's feed will be available to vendors via the Miami Switch. TV Marti will make alternative arrangements to deliver its feed to vendors who do not have access to the Miami Switch. Q5. How many days per week do you anticipate sending an uplink? A5. We are seeking to lease one or more hours of broadcast time from 7:00pm to 11:00pm Monday through Friday. Q6. Will the chosen vendor be expected to provide uplink services on weekends and / or public holidays? A6. Yes, the chosen vendor will be expected to perform on holidays which fall on Monday through Friday.
