Description
The purpose of this amendment is to provide the following specificationsand to state that this is now a competitive, unrestricted action. The closing date is Monday, August 31, 2009 at 11:00 AM EDT. Line Item REQN91353914-0001: Knee Mill, Vertical, 3-Axis CNC 1. Specifications 1.1 Scope - This specification covers the requirements for a knee-type verticalmilling machine with 3-axis computer numerical control (CNC).2.Equipment Description - The equipment shall consist of a knee-typevertical milling machine with a 3-axis CNC control. The equipment shall alsoinclude a rotary indexing device operable under CNC control or manually throughits own control box. The equipment shall be operable under control of the CNCor manually controlled with dial-type hand wheels or levers. 2.1. Three (3) complete sets of technical manuals covering operation, service andmaintenance, and part-listing shall be provided. 4.Installation 4.1.The vendor shall provide services to install the machine NorfolkNaval Station, Norfolk, VA, 23511, and removal of similar equipment from theinstallation site and either relocated on the first floor for storage or loadedonto a truck. The installation shall include new electrical wiring from thebreaker panel, existing conduit may be used. Installation shall also includeanchoring the new machine to an existing concrete pad, if applicable. Atrade-in of the old equipment being replaced should be considered to reduce thetotal cost to the government as discussed in FAR Clause 8.405 and FMR Part102.39(a). 5.On-Site Personnel 5.1.All on-site personnel must be U.S. citizens, and will be required to provide personal information including fullname, date and place of birth, and social security number to gain access to theNorfolk Naval Base. 6.Quality Assurance Provisions 6.1.Inspection and acceptance of the supplies, performed atdestination by Code 981 and shall consist of type and kind; condition;operability, if readily determinable; preservation; packaging. 7.Preservation, Packaging and Packing 7.1. The equipment shall be packaged, packed and preserved forshipment to reach ultimate destination undamaged. Package shall be prominentlymarked "NOT FOR OUTSIDE STORAGE". Yellow packaging, packing, preservation andmarking are prohibited.7.2.The equipment shall be shipped palletized for ease ofoff-loading by fork lift truck.
