- Request for Information/Interest for On-site Parts and Supply store of Auto and Heavy Equipment Parts for USDOE/NNSA Pantex Plant Introduction: Babcock & Wilcox Technical Services Pantex, LLC is the managing and operating contractor for the USDE/NNSA Pantex Plant. B&W Pantex solicits interest in providing services and staff to maintain and manage an on-site auto parts store with price, inventory and service levels similar to a retail parts store. Store in space provided by B&W Pantex to supply on an as-needed basis new and rebuilt parts and supplies that meet or exceed OEM specifications. The parts and supplies will be utilized in the repair and maintenance of a vast array of industrial and heavy equipment, automobiles and trucks. All equipment, products and services are to meet or exceed all industry standards and requirements. Description of Service Requirements: B&W Pantex requests information from interested respondents in providing the following technical services: •On-site auto parts store with a price, inventory, and service levels similar to a retail parts store. On-site supplier of OEM auto parts and other parts. •On-site supplier availability up to 7 days per week; •Technology available to facilitate efficiency of ordering process. oOn-plant personnel must have computer skills and background in parts; •Tire disposal and replacement; •Battery exchange and battery disposal; •DOE Clearance or ability to obtain a DOE Clearance will be required for On-Site employees. B&W Pantex anticipates the issuance of a Request for Proposal (RFP) for maintenance and operation of an on-site Store for auto, truck and heavy equipment parts to interested respondents. The RFP will be issued for a contract with a base period of one (1) year and four (4) one-year option periods. Submittal Instructions: Interested respondents should submit responses that include the following information: •Brief description of similar work performed as requested in the RFI; •Brief description of the technical approach to provide a basic on-site auto parts store with a price inventory and service level similar to a retail parts store. Submittal should include but is not limited to the following: oPricing strategy; oIn-Plant Store Ordering process; oService level strategy i.e. response time, turnaround time for part repairs; oBilling Process; oReporting capabilities i.e. usage reporting, delivery scheduled vs actual delivery, oOn-site Inventory management strategy; oWarranty for products, equipment, supplies and services; oSupplier Partnerships; oTechnology available to facilitate process efficiencies; oPurchase of existing customer inventory Electronic responses are preferred (use either Adobe PDF or Word format). Requirements may change from those stated in this RFI. Babcock & Wilcox Technical Services Pantex, LLC (B&W Pantex) does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this request for information (RFI) and is under no obligation to proceed with the RFP.
