- NSN 6695-01-079-2945 Part Number 12278976. The item to procure is a Bezel, Instrument Mounting. It is a dial housing F/M1/E1 machined from steel, corrosion resistant, precision casting, composition, 1C-316, condition: annealed, spec MIL-S-81591 and meet the requirements of spec MIL-STD-2175, CLASS 4, Grade D. The part is 2.125 IN X 1.990 IN X 0.562 IN with a cut internal involute spur gear, 224 teeth, DIA. pitch 120, base diameter of 1.7540 IN and designed to mate with part number 12278977. The final protective finish is black oxide in accordance with spec MIL-C-13924, CLASS4. FOB is Destination. The proposed contract will be a 5-year Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity contract with a guaranteed minimum quantity of 100 each and a maximum contract quantity of 1,000 each. For use on the M1 Abrams Tank. Estimated issue date is 10 Sept 2009. This solicitation will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.502 and 5.102; therefore, hardcopies will not be provided. Vendors wishing an electronic copy may download it on or after the issue date by accessing the following address via the internet: https://aais.ria.army.mil/aais/SOLINFO/index.htm Proposed contract is 100% small business set-aside. Based upon market research, the Government is not using the policies contained in Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, in its solicitation for the described supplies or services. However, interested persons may identify to the contracting officer their interest and capacity to satisfy the Governments requirement with a commercial item within 15 days of this notice. CAUTION: This solicitation will be issued electronically as will any amendments thereto. Because of this, the Government is under no obligation and is in fact unable to maintain a bidders mailing list. It is therefore incumbent upon any interested parties to periodically access the above internet address in order to obtain any amendments which may be issued. Failure to obtain any said amendments and to respond to them prior to the date and time set for bid opening/receipt of proposals may render your bid or proposal nonresponsive and result in the rejection of same.
