Description
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS FOR THIS PROCUREMENT. Q1: I did not find a mention of the required ship date for these parts. I think most of the time will be the boat ride to Hawaii from California. If you have a required date, please email it to me.? Response: Items should arrive at the government's facility in Honolulu no later than 04-DEC-2009. Q2: The RFQ request for shipping cost to be separate, but I have not seen any instructions for packaging or shipping preferences. The statement of work indicates that this will be factored into the proposal. Does this mean that Item No.0003 on the RFQ remain blank? Response: Items should be palletized and ready for transport by a freight forwarder. Contractors should specify a "not to exceed" shipping fee. The government may use typical third party shipment fees from the point of origin to Honolulu to evaluate proposals. Q3: On the MAUI Mounting plate print, it has two (2) slots 3.5 inches long, however on the MAUI Overview assembly drawing it has clearly shows one continuous slot. Which is correct? Response: The item should be fabricated per the drawing titled ‘MAUI INSTRUMENT MOUNT TYPE 1' Version 20090713. The drawing shows two slots. Q4: Do we need RFID tags for shipping? Response: RFID tags are not required as part of the shipment. Q5: The assembly view shows no bolts or holding mechanisms, and none are spelled out in the contract. Am I to understand that the bolting mechanism is furnished by NOAA? Response: Bolts and fasteners will be provided by NOAA.
