- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announce its intention to negotiate a non-competitive award for the purchase of consultant services who will work with the Scientific Lead of the Arthritis Program, Other CDC staff, and awardees (Georgia, Michigan) to provide consultation and technical assistance to CDC, the existing 2 awardees (GA,MI), and the 3 new awardees (CA, NYC, Indian Health Service) in the implementation and development of a population -based registry for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Participate in regular teleconferences to provide epidemiologic expertise and "lesson learned" from creating the population -based Birmingham Lupus Registry. Be available via e-mail, teleconference, or videoconference to the individual CDC staff and awardees for individual consultation, the results of which are to be shared via e-mail with all other participants to help with communication and coordination. Make one site visit to include both existing registries. At the end of the year, discuss with the Technical Contact the strengths and weaknesses of the registries as they have progressed to that point, with suggestions for the changes that can improve their performance. In addition, the report should include suggestions for attracting non-CDC funding that would support the clinical follow up studies that are not part of these registries, which are focused on determining the prevalence and incidence of diagnosed SLE. The proposed contract will be for 12 months September 30, 2009 through September 30, 2010 with a proposed option to extend services for an additional year - 12 months. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, but all replies received within 15 days of publication by email will be considered. A determination not to compete based on responses received, and to proceed with a noncompetitive award is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
