- Description
- The objective of this task is to repair one ship set (6 pieces) of shafting removed from the USS Whirlwind. The shafting is damaged and requires re-conditioning in way of the stuffing box and bearing journal areas using HVOF application of tungsten carbide hastalloy to rebuild the surface. Upon completion of repairs, the shafting crates shall be repaired, shafting installed and shafting shall be deemed Ready for Issue (RFI) for the next DPMA.
