Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the Internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Naval Sea Systems Command. Applicable NAICS code is 811212, $23M size standard. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) intends to procure hardware maintenance support for the equipment listed in Attachments 1 and 2. The type of primary computer systems to be maintained are as follows: Microvax II, Vax 6000 Series, Vax 4000 Series, Vaxstations, Decservers, Alphastations, Vax 8500 Series, and other associated Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) manufactured peripherals. Services shall include remedial and preventive maintenance, as well as, installation of field engineering changes, to include updating diagnostic routines and documenting and briefing the contract manager on operational changes. Maintenance covers all peripherals interfaced with the computer systems listed above. This acquisition will be solicited on an unrestricted full and open competition basis. All responsible sources must provide a written proposal to demonstrate their ability to service the equipment listed in Attachments 1 and 2. All equipment is located at NSWCDD. Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) will be utilized for award in accordance with FAR Part 13.5 - Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The order shall be firm fixed price commercial service type contract. The contract shall include a base period of twelve (12) months and three one-year option periods. A formal Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued on or before August 31. The RFP number will be N00178-09-R-3052. The closing date will be 14 days after issuance. Anticipated award date is on or before 01 October 2009. In order to be eligible for award, firms must be registered in the Central Contractor Registry (CCR).
