- J&A The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to issue an order under Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-07-G-0008 to the Bell Boeing Joint Program Office, 401 Tiltrotor Drive, Amarillo, TX 79111 on a sole-source basis for Non-Recuring Engineering Effort (NRE) for the Mid-Wing Processor Unit (MPU for both the V-22 aircraft. This effort includes, but not limited to, the replacement of the Vibration Structure Life and Engine Diagnostics (VSLED), Fuel Management Unit (FMU) (2 per Shipset) and the Drive System Interface Unit (DSIU) with the Mid-Wing Processor Unit (MPU) for both MV-22 and CV-22 aircraft. The replacement effort will include design, development, integration, documentation, qualification, characterization and testing to install the MPU in the V-22 aircraft. Additionally, the Power Distribution Panel (PDP) shall be redesigned to eliminate Wiring Integrated Assembly (WIA) 50 and WIA 51 for the V-22 aircraft. Bell-Boeing is the sole designer, developer, and producer of the V-22 Tilt-Rotor Aircraft and is the only source that possesses the technical data and requisite knowledge of properly integrating aircraft components with tiltrotor technology.
