- THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTORS UNDER W91A2K-9155-1001. Under the authority of FAR 13.5, the U.S. Army RDECOM Contracting Center, Natick Contracting Division, Natick, MA intends to award a Firm Fixed Price Purchase Order to Space Electronics, LLC of Berlin, CT, to purchase of a KSR330-20 Mass Properties Instrument to include the instrument and required operating equipment, shipping, installation and a one year service contract. Space Electronics is the only company which manufactures a true combined mass properties instrument that measures both CG and MOI in one set up and meets the accuracies required. Space Electronics has been manufacturing these machines for over 50 years and is the recognized source for these instruments. An attempt to purchase this type of machine from a company which had never made this type of instrument before will result in unacceptable delays and a strong possibility that the vendor would simply not be able to meet the accuracy requirements. Furthermore, the reliability of a prototype machine which had just been designed by an inexperienced vendor could be very poor, resulting in numerous delays and additional expense to the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future.
