- Description
- The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) intends to negotiate a sole source purchase order with Geokon, Inc. for the Soil Pressure Cell Gauge for full scale and accelerated pavement tests. The sensors will be used in upcoming FHWA accelerated pavement testing experiments. Additionally, the instruments will be used to provide data that will be fully compatible with data obtained in past accelerated pavement testing experiments conducted by FHWA and the state highway agencies. Geokon model 3500 has the capability and specifications required with calibration, installation and performance they are considered the only source who can provide the sensor. All responsible sources may submit a response identifying their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one course under the authority FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This is a Simplified Acquisition and the total amount of the award is $10,872.00; the anticipated award date is Tuesday, August 25, 2009.
