- Description
- The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) intends to negotiate sole source purchase order to Dynatest Consulting, Inc. for the Asphalt Strain Gauges to be used in pavement tests. The asphalt strain gauges will be used to provide pavement response data and quantify constructed quality of research test sections. The gauges must be fully compatible with data obtained in the past accelerated pavement testing experiments conducted by FHWA and the state highway agencies. Additionally, the data collected through the testing will provide information on the calibration, installation, and performance. Because Dynatest gauge is the only testing instrument that has the required devices and compatibility needed they are the only source for the services. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one course under the authority FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This is a Simplified Acquisition and the total amount of the award is $17,040.00; the anticipated award date is Tuesday, August 25, 2009.
