- By way of this Announcement, the Chicago District Corps of Engineers issues a Pre-solicitation Notice for its EUGENE FIELD PROJECT LOCATED IN CHICAGO, IL. The Contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary facilities, plants, labor, transportation, materials and equipment to restore the ecosystem of the North Branch Chicago River and its riparian zone within the constraints of the current system. The main features will be the demolition of existing utilities and pathways, the grading of a wetland depression, planting of the wetland depression with native species, construction of new paths, raising of the existing baseball fields, and the placement of riffles in the Chicago River. The estimated magnitude of cost for construction is between $1 Million and $5 Million. The Classification Code for this procurement is North American Industry System (NAICS) 237990, with a business size in dollars of $33.5 Million. COMPETITION IS RESTRICTED TO SMALL BUSINESS CONCERNS. Interested Bidders can download the Invitation for Bids Package from the Internet Site https://www.fedbizopps.gov. The solicitation will be available on the Internet TO BE DETERMINED. The due date for bids TO BE DETERMINED. In order for contractors to conduct business with the Department of Defense, the contractor must provide registration information to the Central Contractor Registration (CCR). Contractors can access the CCR for free at http//www.ccr.gov. Request for solicitation packages made by telephone, fax or e-mail will not be honored.
