Description
This Pre-Solicitation Notice is being issued by the United States Army Corps of Engineers - Chicago District to inform interested/potential contractors of the District's imminent issue of an Invitation for Bids (IFB) to obtain construction services for the improvement of reservoir operations at Reservoir 27 near Deerfield, IL. The Contractor will be responsible for providing all of the necessary facilities, plants, labor, transportation, materials and equipment to perform the following: to improve reservoir operations at Reservoir 27, by reducing flood damage problems along the North Branch of the Chicago River in the vicinity of Lincolnshire, Bannockburn and Deerfield in Northeast Illinois. The existing reservoir consists of a ring levee encircling an area around 20 acres with a storage capacity of 525 acre-feet. The selected plan involves excavating an additional 20 acre-feet from the reservoir bottom and lowering the rip rap emergency spillway just over one foot to make the corrections to this reservoir. The construction goals are deepening of the reservoir with the lowering of the emergency spillway. The classification code for this procurement is North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 237990, with a business size standard of $33.5M. COMPETITION IS RESTRICTED TO HUBZONE SMALL BUSINESS CONCERNS. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers intends to award a firm-fixed price construction contract. The estimated price range for this project is between $250,000 and $500,000. Interested Contractors can download the Request for Proposal package from Internet Site www.fbo.gov TO BE DETERMINED.
