- RECOVERY - BROADBAND SEISMOMETER PACKAGESThe Department of the Interior, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Alaska Volcano Observatory has a requirement for fifty (ea.) broadband seismometer packages with delivery to Anchorage, Alaska. The minimum required specifications for the seismometer packages are as follows: 3-component seismometer (minimum 30 second to 50 Hz flat velocity response, 24-bit digitizer, >2 Gbyte flash memory data logger, GPS timing system, and RS-232 or Ethernet interface. Ten (10) of the fifty (50) required units must have 16 Gbyte flash memory upgrade as well as all other technical requirements stated. NOTE: The packages need not be housed together in a single unit. Items may be separate pieces connected via cables. The Government anticipates award of a commercial, Firm-Fixed Price type contract. The required delivery date is anticipated to be 45 days after award of the contract. The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available on the internet on or about 24 Aug 2009. A formal solicitation is not available for release at this time. This requirement is unrestricted. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334519 and the size standard is 500 employees. There is no incumbent contractor. Full funding for requirements to be completed by resultant contract award(s) may utilize funds provided by the Act. Inclusion of unique provisions required to implement the Act, including those for significant reporting and transparency requirements by the successful offeror(s), will be required in any resultant contract.All questions and concerns may be submitted to the Contract Specialist, Reggie Solomon, via email at rsolomon@usgs.gov.
