- THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. In accordance with FAR 5.102 (a) (b) Availability of the Justification. The Center of Acquisition Innovations (CAI) 1615 Woodward Street, Austin, TX 78772 in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with Network Executive Software, Inc. 6420 Sycamore Lane North, Suite 300, Maple Grove, MN 55369, to purchase the issuance of a renewal software maintenance license for the Software products Bull NETEX, IBM Netex, BFX, PFX, IBM and Bull User Access installed on the Hines Information Technology Centers (ITC) IBM mainframe system and Bull DPS 9000. This request is for notification purposes only, and does not constitute a Request for Proposal, a Solicitation, a Request for Quote or, an indication that the Government will award a contract for the items contained in this RFI. This notice is not to be construed as a commitment on the part of the Government to award a contract, nor does the Government intend to pay for any information submitted as a result of this request. The Government does not reimburse respondents for any costs associated with submission of the information being requested or, reimburse expenses incurred for responses to this RFI. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Respondents should identify their company name, address, email, telephone number and a name and telephone number of a point of contact having the authority and knowledge to clarify responses with government representatives. Submissions are due NO LATER THAN 20 August 2009 at 12:00 p.m. C.S.T. and may be made by emailing a response to: Cesar.Fausto2@va.gov. A copy of your response may also be submitted through the FBO website. This RFI notification is based statutory authority of Brand name specification as required by FAR 13.106-1 Solicitation Competition. This notice is part of the Government's Market Research, a continuous process for obtaining the latest information from industry, with respect to their current and near-term abilities. BRAND NAME OF Network Executive Software, Inc. is required to provide continued software licenses support of products installed on the IBM mainframe system model 7060-H30 the Hines ITC and the Bull DPS 9000/742 mainframe system. These products provide for the interface between the IBM BDN batch processing system and the Bull BDN on-line system utilizing the Storage Tek hyperchannel. To avoid, voiding the Network Executive Software licensing agreement, maintenance for the solution needs to be provided by Network Executive Software, Inc. or an approved third party reseller of their solution. This brand Name is understood to be for the manufactured product only. Resellers will be solicited through SEWP first and the through GSA resellers. This is only a Brand Name Requirement.
