THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTORS UNDER GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION, GSA FEDERAL SUPPLY SCHEDULE 66- Scientific Equipment and Services. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Bethesda, Maryland has a requirement for one (1) Genome Sequencer and one (1) Titanium Data Sequencer Cluster. Genome Sequencer must have the following capabilities: 1)Longer reads- must generate more than 1,000,000 individual reads with a Q20 read length of 400 bases per 10-hour run. The Modal length per read is 500 bases. Average length per read must be 400 bases; 2) Fastest Time-to-Result - Data output of 1 billion bases per day; 3) Accuracy - must generate a single-read accuracy that is greater than 99.5% over 500 bases pair reads; and the Titanium Data Sequencer Cluster must have the following capabilities/specifications; Head node with at least 4 cores. The processor should be 2.33 GHz+ and support the Intel 64 Architecture (previously known as EM64T, found in Xeon series 3000, 5000, and 7000 processors as well as Intel Core 2 processors); The head node should also contain 16 GB RAM, dual Gigabit Ethernet network ports, and a DVD-ROM drive for installing software; As many additional child nodes as required to bring the total number of cores in the cluster to 20, with an additional 1 GB RAM per core. The processors in the compute nodes should be identical to the ones in the head node (a "homogeneous cluster"). No additional HDD space is required for the compute nodes beyond what is required to run the OS; 1-2 TB disk space, either in the head node or as a separate dedicated NAS, configured in a RAID5/RAID50 setup; Customized Linux OS, 64-bit, 5) An installed MPI implementation (OpenMPI version 1.2.4+ or MPICH2 version 1.0.6+), 6) SunGrid (aka "N1 Grid Engine 6"); Gigabit switch and patch cables; Server Rack; UPS; and Keyboard, Mouse, Display Monitor. This procurement will be a firm fixed price and will be competed under pre-existing Multiple Award Federal Supply Schedule contracts. A competitive solicitation (RFQ) will be issued via GSA eBuy.
