The work includes two bio-retention areas located adjacent to the pond. A temporary stone access road will be constructed, allowing dump trucks to receive and haul the dredged material to a temporary drying area above the second bio-retention area. Once the area around the dam is dredged and inspected by the government-designated Engineer, both sides of the dam will be faced with shot-crete. The upstream wing walls and bottom of the damn will be filled with grout and sealed with compacted clay and grouted rip rap to correct existing seepage problems and replace lost soil. The culvert between the bio-retention areas will be replaced and the existing path reconstructed. The rest of the site will be restored to existing conditions and stabilized with natural vegetation. Performance period is estimated at 500 calendar days from date of award. The North American Classification System Code for this project is 236220. The RFP will be sent to NAVFAC Washington's 8(a) MACC Contractors Grunley/ Goel JW LCC, FEMCO, Inc., Donley-Kirlin JV, and GDI/ Allen & Shariff JV.
