Description
All interested parties are invited to participate in an Advanced Explosive Ordnance Disposal Robotic System (AEODRS) Architecture Industry Day to be held on Friday, 9 October 2009 from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm at the Kossiakoff Center at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. The Applied Physics Laboratory is located at 11100 Johns Hopkins Road, Laurel, MD 20723-6099. The AEODRS is anticipated to be a family of unmanned ground vehicles (UGV) that will be used by Joint Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) forces to counter the threat posed by improvised explosive devices (IED) and unexploded ordnance (UXO). The AEODRS family of UGVs is expected to consist of a dismounted operations vehicle, a tactical vehicle, and a base/infrastructure operations vehicle that share a common logical, electrical, and physical architecture and that are all controlled by a common operator control unit (OCU). The purpose of this meeting is to provide an opportunity for the involvement of industry, academia, and other Government agencies in the development of the AEODRS architecture. Attendees are requested to register by providing their name, their company/organization name, company/organization affiliation, address, telephone number, and e-mail address by 18 September 2009 to Brenda Lough, e-mail brenda.lough@navy.mil. For contractual issues please contact Jessica Scalfaro at jessica.scalfaro@navy.mil. Individual organizations are limited to three attendees. The agenda can be found on FedBizOpps. Technical information regarding the AEODRS architecture will be available on FedBizOpps beginning on 18 September 2009. Questions regarding the technical information are encouraged after 18 September 2009. All questions submitted on or before 29 September 2009 will be answered not later than 02 October 2009. Questions submitted after that date will be answered during the Industry Day. Questions should be submitted to Byron Brezina at byron.brezina@navy.mil and Jessica Scalfaro at jessica.scalfaro@navy.mil. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions during the Industry Day. All questions and answers will be posted after Industry Day. Attendance at the AEODRS Architecture Industry Day is not a prerequisite for ultimately submitting any future proposals, however, it will provide a valuable opportunity for questions, answers, and industry input. All briefs and discussions will remain at the unclassified level. Industry Day is solely to offer interested parties early involvement in the potential development of the AEODRS architecture. This announcement is for information only, does not constitute an invitation for bid or Request for Proposal, and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a contract or order. The Government will not pay for any effort expended or any material provided in response to this announcement nor will the government return any data provided.
