- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (1), with Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International; dba SEMI, of San Jose, California to acquire booth space at the SEMICON West 2010 Conference at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA, for the period of July 13-15, 2010. *****The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 561920, and the size standard is $7M. SEMICON West is the premier show for the semiconductor industry in the United States which attracts people throughout the world who come to see the latest developments in equipment, materials, procedures, safety, and manufacturing and characterization techniques. The microelectronics industry looks to NIST for standardization of their metrology needs. Participation in SEMICON West affords NIST the opportunity to interact with a large cross section of the industry to learn of the merging industry metrology needs and to inform the industry of NIST's efforts in servicing their needs. ******A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. *****No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, responses received by August 14, 2009 will be considered by the Government.
