Description: THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTORS UNDER WBV070-09-H-0022. The work consists of furnishing all plant, labor and materials for the construction of West Bank and Vicinity, Sand Embankment Levee, to include clearing, grubbing, disposal of debris; design, installation and maintenance of an unwatering system; protection of utilities; construction of access roads; design and construction of truck wash racks; design and construction of temporary access across the Outer Cataouatche canal; construction of sand levee embankment; placement of sand base embankment; contractor quality control; and environmental protection. A sand embankment levee will be constructed that extends down from the Davis Pond East Guide Levee (DPEGL), on the west end, continues parallel to the guide levee and ties back into the DPEGL, just west of Bayou Verret. Placement of a sand base embankment will be required within the interior of the sand levee embankments. The sand base embankment will be placed for the permanent Hurricane Protection Levee to be con structed under a separate contract. Three new access roads will be constructed to provide access from Louisiana Highway 90 to the project siteAt each egress. a truck wash-down rack will be provided. Three temporary canal crossings will be provided for access across the Outer Cataouatche Canal. The work is located on the south side of LA Highway 90 in eastern St. Charles Parish, approximately 3 miles west of Avondale, LA. The exact project location is indicated on the contract drawings.
