- Description
- The purpose of this contract is to provide services for fuels reduction and forest health. Specifically, fuel treatments will meet the following objectives:1) Thinning from below to favor larger diameter ponderosa pine trees and remove the smaller and weaker trees. 2) Reduce the average crown bulk density (crown fuels) by spacing crowns of leave trees. 3) Increase the average crown base height (ladder fuels) by thinning out smaller trees. 4) Sustain and restore hardwood (aspen and birch) component. 5) Treat activity generated fuels and natural fuels by using one of, or a combination of the following methods; a) whole tree yarding and piling slash b)mastication c)chipping d) bull hog treatment. Other methods of treatments will be considered if proposed in the treatment plan.
