Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial itemsprepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 assupplemented with additional information included in this notice. Thisannouncement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are beingrequested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The NAICS is 337214 and the size standard is 500 employees. Solicitationdocument and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effectthrough Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-35 and VAAR rewrite dated02/14/2008. GENERAL: The contractor will furnish, assembly and install the Modular Furniture.The site is designated as Building 22, Neuro Rehabilitation Center,located at VA Martinez Campus, 150 Muir Road, Martinez, CA 94553. Themodular furniture is to be assembled and installed on 2 floors in "readyfor use" condition with all residues removed. Payment will be based onall work being completed. a)The furniture is to be completely installed on 2 floors in"ready for use" condition with all residues removed. Prior to start of work the contractor will survey the areas and providea schedule of work to the Project's COTR (Contracting Officer'sTechnical Representative). This schedule must be reviewed and approvedprior to start of work. PREPARATION/EXECUTION: The work shall include: a.Contractor shall provide construction barrier(s) if/as necessaryfor delivery and assembly of the furniture items. The barrier shall bemaintained by the contractor throughout the install period. Coordinatethis activity with the Project COTR.b.All furniture, shelving, equipment, etc. will be secured priorto any extended departure from the site (i.e. overnight).c.Contractor shall perform all activities during normal businesshours. Off hours shall be an alternate if work cannot be completedbetween 8:00 AM & 4:30 PM. Off hours include any time after 4:30 pmuntil 8:00 am the following day. Contractor may work on weekends duringthe day, with 7 days advance written notice to the COTR.d.Contractor will repair and/or replace any damage created bytheir activities with matching materials or approved equals.e.The project manager will provide exact locations is/asnecessary. Finish colors, not called out on the order, will besubmitted for approval by the project manager (also see Item III.hbelow). f.Contactor will provide MSDS sheets for all products brought ontothe job site. Those MSDS sheets must submitted and approved 10 daysprior to the start of any work.g.Contractor will insure tools, equipment, liquids and materialsare not put in the facility drains or sewer system. h.Contractor shall provide samples (swatches) of proposedmaterials to the project manager for approval prior to start ofmanufacture. Contractor shall be solely responsible for removal of all residue andexcess construction materials from the work area and facility at the endof each shift. It shall be the contractor's responsibility to provideoff-site storage for all delivered materials and his equipment prior tothe approved start of work. COLORS: The furniture finish is to be as stated on the order or as approved bythe project manager prior to start of manufacture (see item III.h.above). MOVING: The contractor is responsible for moving and placement of all deliveredfurniture. INSTALLATION & CLEAN-UP: The contractor shall protect all walls & doors during installation andmaintain a clean & safe work environment. The project manager shallinspect all work prior to the contractor's departure from the site eachday.
