Description: This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items- mobile rock crusher- prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This procurement is for a firm, fixed-priced contract. An award will be made using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, as a purchase order for a single, mobile rock crusher. This RFQ 307539 incorporates by reference FAR provisions and clauses in effect though Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-35, and is an unrestricted procurement under NAICS 333120, Crushing/Pulverizing Machinery, Size Standard 750 employees. The clauses and provisions referenced in this solicitation may be obtained in full text form at http://www.arnet.gov/far. The requirement is as follows: The USDA Forest Service, Sierra Cascade Province (SCP), Lassen National Forest, requires a mobile rock crusher for the creation and maintenance of improved and unimproved roads throughout the forests in the SCP. The unit must be portable, self-powered (vice self-propelled) via diesel engine, and capable of generating @ 2” or less processed road surfacing materials by crushing rocks and other native roadside materials up to 16” in diameter. It must also be attachable to, and transportable by, a front-end wheeled-loader (supplied by the FS) and capable of processing @ 1,000 cu. yd. of material per mile (while traveling @ 1,000’ per hour). Preferred crushing method/mechanism is hammer/anvil. Offer should include, as a separate line item, a cache of additional replacement parts (i.e., anvils, etc.). Delivery location: Rock crusher unit is to be delivered FOB within 120 days to: Lassen National Forest Equipment Shop 1301 5th St. Susanville, CA 96130 SUBMISSION OF OFFERS: The Forest Service will evaluate the quotes/offers and make an award resulting from this solicitation to the responsible vendor(s) whose quotes/offers conform to this solicitation and determined to be most advantageous to the Government based on ability to meet basic requirements, delivery, and price.
