- Description
- The Wilmington VA Medical Center, 1601 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19805 intends to issue a construction contract. The project includes renovating a 26,300 sq. ft. (more or less) Nursing Home. The project also includes extending medical air and oxygen to all patient rooms. This work includes some new interior construction for a Palliative care unit. There is new construction for kitchen equipment installed in the dining area. All new finishes are included. All new flooring is included. New ceiling tile is included. All work for a completely renovated modern Community Living Center is included. The HVAC system is recently renovated but some adjustment may be required. The work includes all general trades such as carpentry, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, painting and IT cabling. This work will be in a partially occupied build and the highest standards of infection control and noise control are necessary. Some evening and night work is expected. The contractor must adjust his work schedule to accommodate the Hospitals needs as required. All work shall be done to the highest standards and in accordance with the plans and specifications. A new medical air pump is included in the project. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 236220. The U.S. Small Business Administration size standard is $33,500,000.00. The SOLICITATION issue date will be approximately August 20, 2009 with an approximate response date of September 21, 2009. The solicitation is a Request for Proposal and will be issued as a 100% Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business set-aside. The project magnitude is between $2,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. The solicitation will result in a Firm-Fixed Priced Contract. Estimated contract performance is 365 days from notice to proceed. Firms must be registered with the Central Contractors Registry http://www.ccr.gov/, and the Veterans Business Registry http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov/ All perspective offerors interested in submitting a proposal on this solicitation must have a commercial and government entity code (CAGE Code). The specification will be made available with the solicitation only on the Electronic Posting System (EPS) web site https://www.fbo.gov/index?cck=1&au=&ck= Paper copies will not be available. Request Drawings by sending the request to Michael.white9@va.gov Drawings will be sent on or after the solicitation is issued only. Telephone and fax requests will not be honored. Once the solicitation is posted, it is incumbent upon the interested parties to review the EPS website frequently for any updates/amendments to any and all documents.
