- Description
- The Cincinnati VAMC has a requirement for Project VA539-C90540, "1st Nurse & PEC Offices" at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 3200 Vine Street, Building 1, Cincinnati, Ohio 45220. Design shall follow the VA Design Criteria. This notice is provided for informational purposes only. The opportunity is available only to contractors under public law 109-461 and 38 USC 8127. This acquisition will be solicited pursuant to the Veterans' First Public Law as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Set-Aside. The SDVOSB contractor is required to perform a minimum of 15% of the construction work on the project. This does not include paperwork, submittals, etc. Additionally, this acquisition will be conducted in accordance with FAR 14.408-1(a) (3), to that responsible bidder whose bid, conforming to the invitation, will be most advantageous to the Government, considering only price and the price-related factors. Do not send questions to this notice. Questions will be accepted after the solicitation has been published. A Firm Fixed Price Construction award is anticipated. This project is for complete Design / Build services to create final construction documents, and the labor, materials, equipment and supervision required to construct project "1st Nurse & PEC Offices" at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 3200 Vine Street, Building 1, Cincinnati, Ohio 45220. Design shall follow the VA Design Criteria. The two additional PEC offices at the Cincinnati VAMC will be located between rooms C116E and C116F. This project will also include renovation of the PBS check in area to include a "First Nurse Station". The work site location is on the 1st floor of building 1 in the Urgent Care area. The rooms involved are C106 and C116A. Work will require in part the removal as well as construction of walls to provide the needed space for the First Nurse area. The work will require coordination with patient traffic flow. This work is depicted in more detail per drawings "1st Nurse & PEC Offices". In addition, there is a listing of VA Master Specification Sections which will apply. A 30% Design package has been provided, the Design / Build will include the remainder of the design package and all items required to perform construction. Design options include utilizing system walls to minimize dust and disruptions to the public. Solicitation documents, including specifications and preliminary drawings, will be available electronically on or about August 17, 2009, at the following website: www.fedbizopps.gov. INTERESTED PARTIES ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO REGISTER TO RECEIVE NOTIFICATION OF ACTIONS INCLUDING POSTING OF THE SOLICITATION AND ANY AMENDMENTS. HOWEVER, OFFERORS ARE ADVISED TO CHECK THE SIGHT FREQUENTLY AS THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR OBTAINING AMENDMENTS. One Hundred and Twenty (120) day bid acceptance period will be required. Pursuant to 40 U.S.C. 3132, payment protections will be required for this project. A pre-proposal conference shall be held at a date, time, and location to be provided in the solicitation. In accordance with VAAR 836.204, the magnitude of this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. Offerors must be listed in the VetBiz.gov Vendor Information Pages at www.vetbiz.gov, currently registered in Central Contractor Registration, www.ccr.gov, and have completed online Representations and Certifications at http://orca.bpn.gov. North American Industrial Classification Standard (NAICS) code assigned to this construction project is 236220 with a small business size standard of $33.5 million. AWARD IS SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS.
