Description
The purpose of this amendment to answer questions received. All other terms and conditions of this notice remain the same. This Sources Sought Notice is for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation or commitment by the Government. This notice is intended strictly for Market Research. The notice is not intended to solicit technical, scientific, or business information for project planning purposes regarding existing or possible solutions. The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Library of Medicine (NLM) is conducting a market survey to help determine the availability and technical capability of qualified small businesses, veteran-owned small businesses, service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses and/or HUBZone small businesses capable of serving the needs identified. 1. Who is requesting this solicitation? Who is actually driving the RFID/RTLS effort? The National Library of Medicine. 2. How will the project be funded? The Bethesda Hospitals' Emergency Preparedness Partnership (BHEPP) will be funding this activity. 3. Will specifications for an integrated solution be provided? What are project requirements and have they even been determined yet? If we decide to move forward, then a formal RFQ/RFP will be released with more information. 4. RTLS works off a wireless infrastructure; does each hospital in question already have a robust wireless infrastructure to support RTLS? RTLS is commercially supported using multiple technologies including, but not limited to UHF, Ultrasonic, Infra-red, WiFi, Zigbee, UWB, etc. The selected vendor will be responsible for implementing the related infrastructure in a manner that does not interfere with the hospital infrastructure. 5. Will services be needed aside from hardware/software? Vendor will be required to provide installation services for all hardware and software provided, as well as training, technical support and ongoing maintenance. If we decide to move forward, then a formal RFQ/RFP will be released with more information. 6. Makeup of the 10 page response - does the title page and TOC count towards the 10 page capability statement? In accordance with the notice, the capability statement shall not exceed ten pages. This includes anything that you send in response to this notice. 7. Can white papers, press releases, etc be submitted as supporting documentation? In accordance with the notice, the capability statement shall not exceed ten pages. This includes anything that you send in response to this notice. 8. Are there any government mandates, policies, or standards that the proposed solution must satisfy? If we decide to move forward, then a formal RFQ/RFP will be released with more information. 9. Three sites were called out in the Sources Sought Notice. Are there additional sites for consideration? Are there additional locations or server farms where technology components may be housed? No other sites are being considered. 10. How many systems of record have been identified for systems integration? There are no systems of record involved. 11. Is an RFQ/RFP expected as a result of this Sources Sought Notice and if so within which fiscal year? If we decide to move forward, then a formal RFQ/RFP will be released with more information.
