- The Cincinnati VAMC has a requirement for Project VA539-C90543 A815 Shower Renovation. This notice is provided for informational purposes only. The opportunity is available only to contractors under public law 109-461 and 38 USC 8127. This acquisition will be solicited pursuant to the Veterans' First Public Law as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Set-Aside. The SDVOSB contractor is required to perform a minimum of 15% of the construction work on the project. This does not include paperwork, submittals, etc. Additionally, this acquisition will be conducted in accordance with FAR 14.408-1(a) (3), to that responsible bidder whose bid, conforming to the invitation, will be most advantageous to the Government, considering only price and the price-related factors. Do not send questions to this notice. Questions will be accepted after the solicitation has been published. A Firm-Fixed Price Construction award is anticipated. This project is for a complete Design / Build services to create final construction documents, and the labor, materials, equipment and supervision required to construct this project "8th Floor Shower Room Renovation" for the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 3200 Vine Street, Building 1, Cincinnati, Ohio 45220. Design shall follow the VA Design Criteria. This project will provide additional offices space to the Cincinnati VAMC and will be located in room A815. The work site location is on the 8th floor of building 1. The work will require coordination with patient traffic flow. This work is depicted in more detail per drawings "8th Floor Shower Room Renovation". In addition, there is a listing of VA Master Specification Sections which will apply. The work will require the removal of all walls, ceiling and floor surfaces as well as the removing of existing plumbing. This removal will afford the installation of new electric as well as additional HVAC needs. The Design / Build will include the remainder of the design package and all items required to perform construction. Solicitation documents, including specifications and preliminary drawings, will be available electronically on or about August 19, 2009, at the following website: www.fedbizopps.gov. INTERESTED PARTIES ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO REGISTER TO RECEIVE NOTIFICATION OF ACTIONS INCLUDING POSTING OF THE SOLICITATION AND ANY AMENDMENTS. HOWEVER, OFFERORS ARE ADVISED TO CHECK THE SIGHT FREQUENTLY AS THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR OBTAINING AMENDMENTS. One Hundred and Twenty (120) day bid acceptance period will be required. A pre-proposal conference shall be held at a date, time, and location to be provided in the solicitation. In accordance with VAAR 836.204, the magnitude of this project is less than 25,000. Offerors must be listed in the VetBiz.gov Vendor Information Pages at www.vetbiz.gov, currently registered in Central Contractor Registration, www.ccr.gov, and have completed online Representations and Certifications at http://orca.bpn.gov. North American Industrial Classification Standard (NAICS) code assigned to this construction project is 236220 with a small business size standard of $33.5 million.
