- Work on Johnsondale Water System includes but is not limited to: Demolition of miscellaneous existing features and underground utilities where encountered limited to the existing trench line; New pump and well head controls at the existing well head; Connection to existing tank and new controls; Replacement of approximately 2500 LF of existing waterline of various sizes, including trenching to follow the existing in place line; New control valves and boxes and hydrants in existing locations; Connection to existing waterlines at the building connections at existing locations; Patch paving to include excavation and backfill; Complete parking lot seal coat to include striping and patching; and Compliance with the Section 01010(1.8) Cultural Recourses Protection measures established in this contract for the replacement of the water supply and distribution line. Option Items include: (1) Well head pump house enclosure at existing well; (2) Well head pump house enclosure at proposed new well location; (3) Abandonment of one existing well; (4) New water well construction/development; and (5) Well electrical line and controls. The project is located at the Johnsondale Work Center within the Sequoia National Forest/Giant Sequoia National Monument. The Johnsondale Work Center is located on the Western Divide Ranger District of the Sequoia National Forest/Giant Sequoia National Monument. Johnsondale is located 26 miles north of Kernville, California via country road M-99 at an elevation of 4700 ft. A MANDATORY pre-bid tour will be conducted at the Johnsondale Work Center. Contractors should notify the Contracting Officer of their intent to attend the pre-bid tour. The pre-bid tour conducted will be one requirement of a successful bidder’s package in addition to the technical proposal requirements included in Section M. Date and time of the Pre-Bid Tour will be provided in the Solicitation when issued. The price range of this project is between $250,000 and $500,000. The estimated contract time is 360 calendar days. Estimated start work date is September 28, 2009. Issue date is approximately August 19, 2009 with a closing date of approximately September 21, 2009. This project is being issued unrestricted.
