- *****CONTACT JANET APPLETON ONLY FOR INFORMATION REGARDING THIS NOTICE ATjanet.l.appleton@nasa.gov, or fax to 256-544-6560.**************NASA/MSFC has a requirement for analysis services regarding the results and analysis ofMicrobial Testing in support of environmental control and life support hardwaredevelopment for space. NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the services from Mittelman and Associates on a sole sourcebasis due to their direct involvement in microbial testing and analysis of life supporttechnologies while in development for the International Space Station.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact no later than 8/10/2009 4:30 p.m.local time to Janet Appleton at janet.l.appleton@nasa.gov or faxed to 256-544-6560. Suchcapabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determiningwhether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination bythe Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis,based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
