- This project is located on the High Sierra Ranger District of the Sierra National Forest. This project consists of reconstructing a portion of an existing Forest Service Road. Work includes the repairing of approximateluy 100 ft of Forest Service Road that was impacted by a landslide. The installation of a Mechanically Stabilized Wall will be the major focus of this project. Work to include the scaling of existing rock face, installation of gabions, and road prism reconstruction. Materials to include are: aggregate material, geocomposite, filter fabric, geogrid, 6-inch HDPE pipe, soil nails, welded wire wall, gabion facing, and revegetation. Project Location: From Fresno, CA proceed East on Ashlan Ave until it turns into Watts Valley Road. Travel approx. 25 miles on Watts Valley Road to the intersection of Trimmer Springs Road. Continue going East on Trimmer Springs Road for approximately 5 miles to Forest Road 10S69. Then proceed North on Forest Service Road 10S69 for approx. 5 miles, then head due West on Forest Road 10S04 for 1/2 mile to project site.
