- This publication serves as notice of intent to procure services from the University of California, Santa Cruz for the Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Service to provide technical assistance to project California Hishorical Catch Reconstruction. Background: The Pacific Fishery Management Council and NOAA Fisheries have an interest in conducting comprehensive historical groundfish catch reconstructions for the State of California. Recently acquired archived data in the form of printed output and microfiche are being digitally recaptured under a NOAA program (Climate Data Modernization Project). A vast quantity of data has been keypunched by SourceCorp under contract to CDMP, but additional error checking and literature work needs to be undertaken to complete reconstructions. This purchase order will be used to hire a Laboratory Assistant II to undertake a variety of tasks associated with completing reconstructions. Objectives: • Edit recovered landing receipts that have been delivered by SourceCorp • Enter recreational data from California Fish and Game Bulletins • Sort rockfish otoliths and update the otolith archive database • Conduct additional literature searches of the primary fisheries literature • Organize trawl block summary data sheets and prepare for delivery to SourceCorp. The government intends to negotiate a frim-fixed price contract with a performance period from date of award to 12/31/2010. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.
